For two weeks in September . . .

I collaborated in a Brief Encounters production with three other artists representing a variety of disciplines. Along with myself as film-maker, the group included: a performance artist; story-teller David Levi; and writer/director/performer Pedro Chamale. For the most part, we were strangers to each other. The overall theme was conflict and war. We were asked to create a 15 minute stage performance and a 5 minute movie loosely based on David’s early childhood memories of the London blitz.

A team of relative strangers thrown together to create (in a limited time frame and finally perform for an audience) had all the makings of a reality-show. As the film-maker, the 5 minute movie seemed to me an opportunity to experiment with the notion of producing a "trailer" which was then screened as an element of the stage performance. They All Turned White was performed at the Anvil Centre in New Westminster, October 3rd 2015.
